The 2016 Honda CR-V Earns Five-Star Safety Rating
The 2016 Honda CR-V has earned the five-star overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This government organization recently tested the latest model of the Honda CR-V and awarded it the five-star rating overall, with a five-star rating in both front and side crash tests, and a four-star rating in the rollover crash test.
The CR-V Scores on Safety
The fact that the 2016 Honda CR-V has earned the five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program might not come as much of a surprise. The CR-V has historically earned top crash test scores from that organization. The latest CR-V is also equipped with the most recent iteration of the Honda Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which absorbs and disperses crash forces in order to protect passengers from injury.
The Honda CR-V has also earned top safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The CR-V achieved ‘Good’ ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, and a ‘Superior’ rating in the newest Front Collision Prevention category when equipped with the Honda Sensing option.
The Honda Sensing system is newly available in the CR-V for the 2016 model year. This optional system includes a front collision warning, automatic collision prevention braking, a lane keeping warning, a lane keeping assistance system, and adaptive cruise control. Every Honda CR-V gets features like stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, and a rearview camera.
